Treatments

Corns, calluses and nail problems can cause a lot of pain and limit your participation in every day life. General treatment is provided to achieve relief. Footwear advice is often given, especially on fit and style of shoes.

Aches and Pains Experienced as Active Adults

The podiatrists will conduct a basic neuro-vascular assessment and a mechanical relative to your chief concern and advise on interventions needed e.g. footwear or refer on if necessary

Nail surgery

Nail surgery is offered in the practice always using local anaesthetic. A clinical assessment and recommendation will be made to you based on need and risk. Referral on when appropriate.

Footwear

Footwear changes can make a significant difference to your comfort and to prevent ongoing foot problems.

Orthoses

The podiatrists prescribe various types of "orthotics" (as they are commonly known).

At times simple interventions are recommended and may be made in our own laboratory. Pre moulded foot orthoses are sometimes used.

Orthotic devices may be moulded on casts, and may vary from flexible to very stiff materials depending on our prescription for you.

Diabetes Annual Assessment and Reports

Annual risk assessments are conducted with report for your doctor and a recall system to for ongoing review.

Infection Control Standards

All instrument packs have been sterilised after use and treated in accordance with the National Infection Control Guidelines for Podiatrists. All our podiatric assistants attended and successfully completed Podiatric Assistants' Course run by the Australian Podiatry Association SA.
