Corns, calluses and nail problems can cause a lot of pain and limit your participation in every day life. General treatment is provided to achieve relief. Footwear advice is often given, especially on fit and style of shoes.

Aches and Pains Experienced as Active Adults

The podiatrists will conduct a basic neuro-vascular assessment and a brief mechanical assessment relative to your chief concern. They will advise whether any intervention is needed e.g. footwear, further examination, or refer on if necessary.

Nail surgery

Nail surgery is offered in the practice always using local anaesthetic. A clinical assessment and recommendation will be made to you based on need and risk. Referral on when appropriate.

Footwear

Orthoses

The podiatrists prescribe various types of "orthotics" (as they are commonly known).
At times simple interventions are recommended and may be made in our own laboratory. Pre moulded foot orthoses are sometimes used.
Orthotic devices may be moulded on casts, and may vary from flexible to very stiff materials depending on our prescription for you.

Annual risk assessments are conducted with a report for your doctor and a recall system for ongoing review.

Infection Control Standards

All instrument packs have been sterilised after use and treated in accordance with the National Infection Control Guidelines for Podiatrists. Signe has attended and successfully completed the Podiatric Assistants' Course run by the Australian Podiatry Association SA.
